Life becomes 120% more interesting.
Have you ever been on a wild adventure? It feels kind of like that. It’s thrilling and it’s never boring. Finding new Vegan foods feels like winning the lottery. Walking around the store and seeing a lot of new vegan options also feels like a victory. You feel like part of a big cool kids club, making a change one day at a time. Life is never boring after going vegan.
You begin to feel like a superhero.
“I’m Vegan” isn’t said to annoy meat-eaters. It’s there because it stands for being a superhero for the planet and the animals. When I first went vegan, I felt like I had stepped up my human game. Like, “Yeah, I’m Vegan.” And what’s wrong with that?
You feel lighter in the body
Once you stop eating dairy and meat, it feels your stomach is thanking you. Your body becomes light and you’re no longer being weighed down by food, instead, you’re energized by it. I felt like a butterfly after every meal. That is truly the high you want to feel.
The feeling you get after eating some quinoa, or rice and beans, or fresh, juicy fruit. It all makes you feel just too damn good. Ever seen that “Healthy Af” meme float around? Yeah, feels like that, except all the time.
You notice people who say a lot of dumb things.
“Where do you get your protein from?”
“You must be really strong.”
“You only eat vegetables?”
First, let’s clear some things up. As a Vegan, you’ll be eating plenty and plenty of food. I’ll be honest, I don’t eat vegetables as much as I should. Second, being Vegan is the easiest (and the most fun) thing in the world. Third, I remember I got the “no wonder you glow” comment.
You read labels on everything
It’s a ritual. It usually goes like this:
-Ooo, that looks good. I wonder if it’s Vegan.
-*reads the label and hopes it is*
You would be surprised where you find milk or eggs. It’s honestly shocking.
You can now relate to Vegan memes
Yes, no longer need to miss out on all the fun. You can officially advertise your veganness with funny memes.
You realize that there are Vegan options everywhere.
Of course, saving the best for last. Want to eat at Burger King? Look up the Vegan Menu. Want to eat at Chipotle, Subway, Domino’s? Whatever your heart desires, you can definitely look up the Vegan options these places serve. The list goes on, but you get the idea. You can eat practically everywhere.
