Let yourself breathe. Each and every moment of silence dripping by like infinite bliss. Let your bones spread apart like the wings of a butterfly. Let your mind carry you to places where you are both uncomfortable and frightened, and allow yourself to lose the ability to breathe for a few clouded seconds of a heavy chest filled to the top with water. Breathe in and hold it, allow your muscles to fall apart like victors in a battle against all of life. Have a minute to think beyond what the sun touches and become so distant from your own ship that you begin flying across the universe. When you bike, go really fast and then lift your hands in the air and close your eyes even if for a second. Sink the feeling of flying as if you were born for the wind, with wings so big they can shelter the broken-hearted from the rain. Hear it, every little thing as it passes by, pushing itself as an experience through your body. Take a moment to find the place of tranquility and then live there. Listen to the waves of the ocean as it draws its patterns on the sand. Watch the moon as she pulls her Love to home.
Get rid of things that slow you down, unpack your mind as you unpack your bag, and crush stones with your fingers, change the form even if you cannot change what it is. Open your heart to those who spit poison out of their mouth, and smile. Send love, and you’ll find them shielding their face from the light that shines from your body. At sunset, close your eyes and let the colors inside turn to gentle orange, and smile because that’s the only sane thing to do. When you walk by and feel the urge to touch a tree, do it. Place your hands against the bark and trace the ridges and bumps. Close your eyes and feel waves of love enter your body, kissing and carrying you to a place only you know. Allow the branches to lean in and protect you as you spin around the sun. Talk to something, it doesn’t matter what as long as it’s there to listen. Name your cactus, and when you drink tea — give it water. Be so free, that with your bare feet against the ground you can feel the pulsing beat of the earth, and you can almost see the spirit dancing, as it gently lifts your hand and pulls you to join. Your feet moving and your eyes glued to the skies as you laugh and twirl. You can swear the wind is kissing your body, whispering melodies and secrets into your ears. You can feel the whole of life beaming down on you, and your eyes light with fire and joy. Escape the prison of time and forget what it means to dread certain days of the week. Fall into a spiral of love, dive into it with your eyes closed and then realize you’re being held by a hand lifting you.
You’ll find home, and then you’ll realize it’s here; it’s the place between the soil and stars, and I hope you’re as in love as I am.
“It felt so amazing to be alive I could never think of anything else.”
